EPL: Arteta criticizes VAR, saying “You cannot give us the two points back”

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, alleged that Lee Mason, the VAR, “did not grasp” his position.
Last Saturday, Mason failed to rule out the offside that led to Brentford’s late equalizer against the Gunners.
Christian Norgaard was offside in the buildup, but Ivan Toney’s header in the 74th minute gave the Bees 1-1 draw at the Emirates.
PGMOL, the agency that regulates referees, has previously acknowledged that Mason’s failure to mark the offside lines was “human error.”
Arteta, though, said that the error “lost Arsenal two points” in their Premier League title contest.
“That wasn’t a human error. That was a big, big, big not conceiving and understanding your job. That’s not acceptable, I’m sorry. And that cost Arsenal two points and that’s not going to be restored.

“So we are going to have to find those two points somewhere else in the league.”
