In addition to being urged to be security alert, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to Taraba State for their one-year required service have been advised against getting involved in local politics in their several primary postings.
At the 2023 Batch A Stream 1 closing ceremony, which was held on Tuesday at the orientation camp in Sibre, Ardo Kola Local Government Area, the Taraba State NYSC coordinator, Anthony M. Nzoka, issued a warning to the corps members.
“I want to urge you all not to meddle in the local politics but remain neutral while you do the election duties for a better country,” he added, urging them to refrain from interfering in local politics.
In delivering the message of Brig Gen Yushau Ahmed, Director General of NYSC, to corps members, Nzoka cautioned them to be aware of their security and to avoid any unapproved trip and any night travel as well as acts that may endanger their security.
The NYSC leadership or security personnel should be contacted with any grievances instead of taking matters into their own hands, as suggested to corps members.
