Johannesburg An execution warrant has been issued for Lesedi Molapisi, a 30-year-old Botswana woman caught transporting heroin into Bangladesh (25 November 2022). When Molapisi took a Qatar Airways trip via Doha from South Africa to the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Bangladesh, her goose had already been cooked.
Molapisi, clad in white and sporting a medical mask, touched down on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Wednesday, January 23, 2022. Unbeknownst to Molapisi, the alert that the airport was being used to carry drugs also arrived at the same time as her arrival.
A Botswana woman was detained at Dhaka airports with 3 kilos of heroin. According to Bangladeshi authorities, Molapisi was stopped by customs inspectors and National Security Intelligence personnel as she entered the country without any declared products.
During a search of Molapisi’s luggage, 3.146kg of heroin were unmasked. The Botswana national was quickly taken into custody.
